Are Australian Shepards from Australia? Despite what their names may imply, Australian Shepards are actually believed to be of North American origin.

What is the lifespan of the Australian Shepard? Aussies usually live to about 12 - 13 years.  However, they have been known to reach the ripe old age of 18.

What’s the typical size of an Aussie? The Aussie is a mid-sized dog.  Their weight range is between 40-65 lbs and a height range of 18-22 inches with males typically being slightly larger than females.
